Sunday, August 12th 2012 Ugh! I can’t believe school starts tomorrow. Mom says high school will be the best four years of my life. I don’t know. Maybe being a freshmen won’’t be as bad as my friends make it out to be. Hopefully I’ll be able to sleep. Monday, August 13th 2012 Today was not that bad. I saw a few of my friends today. Instead of reading or watching a film I decided to play a game instead called The Order: 1886. After playing The Order:1886 I realized that not everything is as it seems. In this third person, cinematic game you play as the protagonist Sir Galahad, a knight in the Queen's royal guard. The Order is a government task force specialized to keep order within the city and hunt creatures of the night; werewolves, half breeds, and vampires.  When starting the game you are tasked to escape a prison cell. After doing so a flashback occurs which takes the player back a few days prior to sir Galahad's imprisonment. (Nikola Tesla in game) (Nikola Tesla) The game features many unique and interesting elements such as weapons, characters, and clothing. One character who amazed me the most was Nikola Tesla. Gothic Horror: Aspects of a Masterpiece

Gothic horror has been one of the most popular genres since the late 18 th century. Many gothic novels such as Dracula and The Lost World are used to convey mystery through the use of supernatural being and elements of gothic fiction.   In Mary Shelley's Frankenstein there are many gothic elements that are used in the story to create ambiance and suspense. Throughout the novel Shelly uses elements such as atmosphere, supernatural events, and high overwrought emotion to describe objects, characters, and the way the characters react to their surroundings. One element in particular is the use of low lighting to create tension. One instance the use of low lighting is affective is during the birth of the monster.   On page fifty-eight Elizabeth describes the candle in her possession as “nearly burnt out” and giving the environment an eerie feeling.
